Do Sumthing Positive Nigeria Event at Friends of the Disabled Charity

DSPN hosted a charity Xmas party on the 23rd of December 2006 for the youths at the friends of the disabled charity, Adeniji Adele Rd, Lagos. We are very pleased to say it was a success and we want to say a big thank you to those od you who made it and who also performed. We had 2 fashion shows by two designers, Dakou and Steve Ray. There was a talent show and performances by Nigeria's upcoming trio Smooth X and Sasha.

We will be hosting another event in 2007, this time it will be bigger and better but to do this we need support of our fellow youths. It will be good if everyone could participate and shot support.

The Walk to Freedom Conference

“The Walk To Freedom,” at the Trenchard Hall, the event starts at 9am.

It holds at Nigeria’s premier University — the same place that has produced a whole generation of global giants (many of who stood tall when it was time to decide for independence. It is being put together by a new generation — young people who are tired of the status quo ante! The theme describes the walk to freedom.

Hosted by Gbenga Sesan and Deolu Akinyemi

Embellishd Fashion Show

The Embellishd Fashion show was organised by a group of talented and smart individuals, you may know some of them, Funlola Abe, Bode Rhodes-Vivour, Debo Ladoja, Ngozi Ofili-Okonkwo and many others.

The tailoring was done by Afro designs, and I must say their outfits were very funky and trendy. Vist their website on www.embellishd.com.

The aim of the Fashion show was to raise money for Aids victims in Africa, it was a good turn out and they managed to raise over £4000 which is GREAT! Just think about the number of kids that will benefit from that.

Well the Embellished Team have done sumthing positive, how about you?

So....

Be Inspired, Be an Achiever, Be Sumthing!!!
